The RedHawks have been improving their record as they took two out of three wins this past weekend in Chicago. The RedHawks were one of six teams to travel to the windy city as they participated in the Moody Bible Institute Tournament. The two day tournament began with pool play on Friday and the championship games on Saturday.

For their first opponents, the Redhawks took on Northland Friday evening. After a back and forth match, the Redhawks were finally able to finish a 3-2 win, as they won in five matches. Freshman Zoe Huizenga finished the game leading the RedHawks with 11 kills, 5 aces, and two solo blocks. Middle hitter Tabitha Newcomb also reached the double digit mark with ten kills and denied four hits at the net. Outside hitter Lauren Krempec lead the team with 14 digs while also adding 4 aces behind the service line. Kankakee Valley graduate Stephanie Tokarz lead the team with 25 assists.
 
Their match following their game was against Moody Bible Institute. The RedHawks stopped their two game winning streaks after losing to Moody Bible in three matches. Lauren Krempec and Kristen Kenney both dug up 11 balls. Krempec also lead the team with seven kill in the match. Tristan Hunter led the RedHawks with eight assists.
 

Late Saturday morning, the RedHawks would face Dayspring Baptist for third place. The RedHawks won 25-16, 25-22, 25-21 to take third place overall in the tournament. Lauren Krempec led all RedHawks hitters with 11 kills. Zoe Huizenga added 10 kills and four aces in the win. Zoe Huizenga would also be the only RedHawks player to be chosen for the All Tournament Team.
