The United States Collegiate Athletic Association has recently recognized two IU Northwest Women's basketball Players for outstanding performances for the Week of December 14th through the 20th.
Nina Wills was named the Co-Women's Basketball Honorable Mention National Player of the Week. Wills, a sophomore point guard at Indiana University Northwest had an all around outstanding game highlighted by a 13 point, 8 assist, 5 rebound, and 4 steal performance in a come-back win over Trinity Christian College.
Sharon Houston was named the Women's Basketball National Player of the Week. Houston is a sophomore forward at Indiana University Northwest. Sharon, who has displayed many dominating performances throughout the season, was once again vital to the RedHawks, in a second half comeback win over Trinity Christian College (NAIA II). Houston posted 23 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. The highlight of this performance came as Houston eclipsed the 1,000 career point milestone. Houston accomplished the feat in just 42 career games. She currently averages 26 points and 15 rebounds a game at IU Northwest.
