The IU Northwest Lady RedHawks started strong and finished strong in 96-41 victory over visiting Grace Bible. The RedHawks jumped out to an 11-2 lead and extended it to 31-3 midway through the first half and never looked back.
IU Northwest, sophomore forward Sharon Houston led the way with 28 points and 13 rebounds in just 17 minutes of action. Sophomore guard Nina Wills recorded a season high 18 and dished ou5 5 assists and 4 steals and sophomore guard Juliette Keller added 16 (all in the first half) and 3 steals. All ten RedHawks players cracked the scoring column as Erica Bran and Vicky Campos each added 8 points.
The RedHawks held a healthy halftime advantage of 54-21 as a result of solid half-court defense, a quick transition game and execution in the half court. IU Northwest finished the game shooting 58% from the field, 38% (7-20) from 3-point distance and 75% from the line. IU Northwest dominated Grace on the boards 45-16. The victory improved the RedHawks record to 11-6 on the season and they will look to improve that mark when they visit Andrews University of Berrien Springs, MI on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 6:30 p.m. EST.
