The highlight of the evening may have been the 6'4" Houston leading the fast break and finding a streaking Amanda Pennington for a basket and a foul as Pennington completed the 3-point play. IU Northwest started the game a bit sluggish, however was quickly able to gain control and held a 45-27 advantage at the half. "We have been doing a much better job of passing the ball in the past two games, it definitely makes us a better team and it seems like we have more fun when we're able to do that, hopefully it continues" said Head Coach Ryan Shelton. IU Northwest recorded 19 assists on the night after registering 15 on Saturday in a win over Marygrove. The RedHawks were only able to record season-low 2 assists in a loss last week to IU SouthBend. "We have too many talented players on our roster to not share the ball better, it took a while, but slowly we're beginning to have more confidence in each other" added Shelton.
For the game IU Northwest shot 51% (33-65) from the field their second straight game shooting 50 plus percent, 71% from the line, but could not find the mark from distance (0-10) failing to record a successful 3-point attempt for the first time this season.
