Dobson and Keller Lead Ranked Teams in Quest for State Titles

Postponements across the Northwest Indiana delayed the start of nearly every sectional Tuesday night, however it left 2010 IU Northwest commits Kelly Dobson and Annmarie Keller chomping at the bit to get the party started on Wednesday evening. Dobson (Boone Grove) and Keller (Kouts) both lead ranked teams with high expectations into sectional play tonight.

Dobson leads the #6 Ranked Class 2-A Lady Wolves (21-1) into the Hebron Sectional tonight for a matchup with the host school. The game is the second of the evening beginning at approximately 7:30pm. Dobson leads Boone Grove in most offensive categories including scoring at 14.2 points per game. Boone Grove defeated Hebron in three previous meeting this season with the two-time, team MVP pouring in 25 points, including 4 threes in the second meeting.

Keller leads #6 Ranked Class 1-A Kouts (19-3) into the Bowman Sectional to face a Whiting team that they handled 71-26 back on Nov. 13 as Keller poured in a season-high 30 points including 4-threes. The game begins at 6pm at Bowman leadership Academy in Gary, IN. Keller leads the Fillies in scoring at 15.7 per game and has scored in double figures in 21 out of 22 games this season.

Both Boone Grove and Kouts are perceived to be the favorites in each of their respective sectionals and are both thought to have excellent opportunities to advance to the state title in their respective classes. Dobson and Keller, conference rivals on the court look to bring their competitive spirit and outstanding scoring ability to IU Northwest in the fall of 2010 where they will be teammates, joining Annmarie's older sister Juliette and All-American, Sharon Houston and the rest of an outstanding core of returning RedHawks who figure to contend for a run at a national championship.
