Sophomore Nina Wills is our women's basketball player of the week. As a guard, she's quick on the court and her height allows her to weave between opponents with ease. We sat down to talk about academics, the RedHawks, and "Finding Nemo."
Nina Wills: I started playing basketball when I was really little. My dad coached my brother so I would just go with my dad.
What separates basketball from other sports?
Nina Wills: I played all kinds of sports in high school (volleyball, track, tennis), but with basketball I liked the competitiveness.
Team chemistry. You have to learn how to trust your team and follow them.
Maybe not in the beginning because we did have new players and we only had seven total last year. I feel like we're all clicking now.
Probably homecoming but I think once nationals hit, that'll be the highlight.
I want to change it to teaching but it is psychology right now.
It's a lot of hard work and I hear you have to go to medical school to do something with a psychology degree and I just don't have the money.
Shopping. I shop way too much.
Foot Locker and Body Central.
"Finding Nemo" is my favorite movie.
I like all types of music: country, rap, and reggaeton.
High school and college are two totally different games so come in open minded.
