Freshman Adam White, guard for the men's RedHawks, was one of the strongest additions to this year's roster. We sat down to talk about his history playing basketball, his favorite video game, and his future career.

When did you start playing basketball?

Adam White: When I was five, pretty much like everybody else. I played a lot of sports. My dad involved me in a lot of sports to see which one I liked. I played baseball, basketball, and soccer. Then, high school came and I just stuck to basketball.

That's what I'm curious about. After playing all of those sports, why did basketball appeal to you?

AW: It's the most exciting. Baseball has the most standing around.

What's your favorite sport to watch?

Basketball, either college or NBA.

What makes a really great basketball team?

You have to have that chemistry. If someone doesn't get along with someone else, it shows on the court.

What was your highlight of the season?

My highlight was the first game of the season. The beginning of the year as a whole. It started off really fun, then things started to change.

What are some of the things you could improve on?

I could shoot more consistently. Getting bigger has always been a problem for me. Having a good IQ on the court is also important.

What's your major?

Elementary education.

Why did you choose that?

I always liked working with kids. My favorite part of being a cadet teacher in high school was going to the elementary school and helping the kids and teachers. I wanted to be a teacher before that, but it kind of sealed the deal. I've wanted to do it since twelve.

Is there any area in particular you'd like to teach?

I like the Chesterton area, but if I can't get a teaching job there I'd like to stay close still.

What are some of your hobbies?

I like to play Call of Duty on the Xbox 360 and hang out with friends.

What music do you listen to?

I only listen to rap.

Are you upset about Lil Wayne's prison sentence?

Yeah, but he has so much music you probably won't notice that he's gone. It'll be like he's still around. He'll probably write some good stuff in jail. Maybe he'll stay away from rock music.

You don't like his new album?

Not, not at all. I think it's terrible.

What's your favorite movie?

Right now, it's probably The Hangover.
