Top 25 Matchup will feature multiple All-Americans

Gary, Ind. – No. 13 IU Northwest RedHawks Women's Basketball will host No. 1 and undefeated (24-0) Saint Francis (Joliet, Ill.) Saints at 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 13  in a late season Top 25 marquee matchup. In a meeting of two of the nation's top NAIA teams, the heavyweight battle will feature multiple All-Americans on each side. The teams have a combined record this season of 48-4.

The RedHawks (22-4) are led by two-time All-American Nicki Monahan who leads the A.I.I. Conference in scoring and is fifth in the nation at 20.3 ppg and All-American candidate Grayce Roach who is scoring at an impressive 16.5 ppg clip.

Meanwhile, the undefeated Saints (25-0) recently survived an overtime scare at upset minded [REC1] and No. 15 Purdue Northwest are led by 20116 All-American Charnelle Reed who leads SFU in both scoring (15.6) and rebounding (7.3).

Last season the Saints nipped the RedHawks 66-62 in Joliet during another matchup of Top 25 teams in a game that came down to the final possession. One season earlier, IU Northwest outlasted St. Francis 78-74 on Nov. 1, 2014 in the last meeting between the two teams at the IU Northwest Savannah Center.

"With our scheduling this season, we wanted to play as many of the nation's top teams as possible, said IU Northwest Head Coach Ryan Shelton."It's a great opportunity to play the nation's No. 1 team on our home floor as we continue to prepare for the post-season. With multiple All-Americans on both teams, it should be an exciting post-season atmosphere in the Savannah Center on Monday night. We would love to have a big crowd there to support our team and the season we have had."

IU Northwest, ranked in the National Top 25 in every poll this season will come into the game with an 11-1 home record -- their only setback being a close 65-60 defeat suffered at the hands of then-No. 2 Marian on Dec. 10. Meanwhile, the Saints are perfect on the season and have been unblemished on the road with a 13-0 record including an impressive 80-70 victory at Saint Xavier on Jan. 7.
