The IU Northwest men's basketball team travelled to Lincoln Christian University for an A.I.I. conference match-up with the Red Lions. After a slow first half, the RedHawks came out firing from the start of the second half and went on for a 79-60 victory.
The RedHawks improves to 19-10 overall and 3-2 in conference. The RedHawks outscored the Red Lions 46-33 with the red-hot shooting from three connecting on 9-of-17 as a team. "The key was our quick passing and moving the ball from side to side to get an open look," said Heridia. "We also started to attack in transition which begins with our aggressive team defense. When we share the ball and play aggressive team defense we are hard to stop," he added. With the win, IU Northwest men's basketball set a regular season record with 19 wins.
RedHawks senior guard Darrius Davis led the team with his 20 points. Junior forward John Mosser added 11 points while pulling down 9 rebounds. Senior forward Justin Pennington scored 16 points while dropping 6 assists on the game. Freshman standout Jovan Jackson added 17 points on 4-of-8 shooting from behind the arc.
