Women's Golf - Fri, Apr. 28, 2017

The Women's RedHawk golf team hit the links for the first time this year playing in the Jaguar Illiana Shootout held at Lincoln Oaks Golf Course in Crete, Illinois.  The women were excited to see where their practice indoors would stack up against the competition on the course.

The weather was quite chilly Friday morning and the winds didn't help the scores either.  Our RedHawks fought the elements and the field to a second place finish of the 18 hole event.

Your RedHawks were led by freshman Stephanie Sanders posting a team low of 95, followed by senior Elizabeth Price with 100, freshman Symone Hayes 101, junior Grayce Roach 112, and senior Nicki Monahan shooting 127.  The event was won by Robert Morris University, but coach Bishop was more than pleased with the performance stating "We competed very well since most of our team was playing in their first NAIA golf event.  I am extremely proud of the way they hung in there to finish above most of the other programs.  We still have a long way to go to compete at a higher level, but this should prove to our women that we can compete and have some success."

The women will tee it up one more time at The Brassie Golf Club in Chesterton, Indiana when they play host to the Aii Conference Tournament.  Good luck Lady RedHawks and play well!!
