On Saturday March 6, 2010, the young RedHawks baseball team traveled to Springfield, Illinois to face Robert Morris College in a double header.
In the first game pitchers Jesse Tomich and Christian Jefferson held the Eagles to only two runs through six innings
Corey Scott singled in the first inning and eventually scored on a Jeremy Ratajczyk ground out. In the sixth inning, Nick Moore walked and scored on an error by the Eagles third baseman. In the seventh inning, Jeremy Ratajczyk singled and scored on an Ethan Arvay force out to give the RedHawks the lead going in to the bottom of the seventh inning. The Eagles put together two hits with the aid of two walks and an error to push across two runs to get the victory for the Eagles 4 to 3.
In game two, Ryan Halbe got on with a fielder's choice and scored when Alex Ramirez singled to left field. In the fifth inning Jamar Averyhart walked and scored on a Coach Dan Soria's call on a perfectly designed and executed double steal with Ryan Halbe who had also walked. In the bottom of the first inning, RedHawks starting pitcher Josh Santiago came down with an injury after the second pitch. Demetrios Pitsas was summoned to replace him and held the Eagles scoreless through six innings. In the seventh inning the Eagles struck for a double and 3 singles pushing across three runs to give the Eagles a hard fought victory against the RedHawks 3 to 2.
