Kokomo, IN - The RedHawks opened the night versus the IU Kokomo Cougars flat in the first set losing 10-25. They could not get in a rhythm. It was very intense back and forth effort for both teams in the second set but still came up short at 19-25. The RedHawks came out hot in the third set jumping out to a 7-2 lead following fiery kills from JR/OH Jade Mulvaney and SO/OH Tori Gardenhire. After those two big points it was a battle point for point for the RedHawks to finish 25-18. The fourth set started with high intense back and forth exchanging of points. The Cougars jumped ahead and RedHawks closed the gap at 14-12. But then had back to back to back service errors which put the Cougars ahead before they had a couple of service errors and attack error. The RedHawks closed the gap within two forcing the Cougars to call a time out. Immediately after the time out the RedHawks had an attack error. The Cougars capitalize on that and took off to finish the fourth set 25-19.

The RedHawks were paced by JR/OH Jade Mulvaney with her second double double on the season. She finished with 10 kills and 13 digs. Freshman, MB Mhejhans Williams had a solid performance all around with seven kills, no errors off 18 attempts hitting .389 and having five digs. Emily Wagenaar JR/OH/DS finished the night with 5 kills and impressive 13 digs. While SO/OH tori Gardenhire led the defensive effort with 13 kills.

"We struggled early on and didn't do several things that we normally do well. I was glad that they came back with that fighting spirit and battled".

RedHawks are back in action Wedneday night at 6pm vs Grace Bible College at the Savannah Center. Match will be livestreamed.
