Gary, IN - The RedHawks opened the night facing Grace Bible College for its second meet up of the season. The RedHawks took control of the match early on in set 1. Their six to seven point advantage made Grace Bible to use a timeout early on. Grace Bible then came back and started playing scrappy defense and before you know it they had tied up the match. SO/OH/Tori Gardenhire (SO/Schererville, IN) (SO/Schererville, IN) was able to close the match on tough serving with final score of 25-23. The second set RedHawks kept that same momentum and went on a run of points with a five point advantage. A couple of more service aces and strong play by FR/MB Mhejhana Williams (FR/St. John, IN) (FR/St. John, IN) closed the set 25-17. The third set came down to the wire as Grace Bible put up a great fight with some very tough defense. The RedHawks were faced with a 22-22 challenge and kill by JR/Alexis Bryant forced Grace Bible to call a timeout. After the timeout FR/MB Mhejhana Williams went back to serve and after the rally was won by the RedHawks. Grace Bible called their second time out. Williams back out on the serving line for match point and was able to get the serve in and JR/OH Jade Mulvaney (JR/Frankfort, IN) (JR/Frankfort, IN) came alive and was able to finish with a kill for match point 25-23.

"We stayed focused and determined to finish in three". Mhejhana Williams had 7 kills no error off 19 attempts hitting .689. JR/OH/DS Emily Wagenaar (JR/Dyer, IN) (JR/Dyer, IN) finished with personal best of 21 digs and 7 kills. JRS Jade Mulvaney and Alexis Blake (JR/Edwardsburg, MI) (JR/Edwardsburg, MI) both finished with 7 kills while SO/OH Tori Gardenhire had 9 kills. Tori and JR/Libero Cassie Bryant (JR/Cannelton, IN) (JR/Cannelton, IN) both finished with 12 digs.

RedHawks are back in action Thursday night at 7pm vs Trinity Christian College at the Savannah Center. Match will be livestreamed.
