Jason Hawkins - Head Coach - 1st Season
IU Northwest director of athletics Dr. Charles Gary announced on April 18, 2011 that Jason Hawkins has been hired as the 4th head coach in the history of the Redhawks men's basketball program.
Coach Jason Hawkins enters into his first season as the head men's basketball Coach at IU Northwest. Hawkins comes to IU Northwest after completing one season as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Elmhurst College, Elmhurst IL.
Prior to Coach Hawkins' stint at Elmhurst College he spent three seasons as a Physical Education Instructor and Head Men's Basketball Coach at Marquette Catholic High School, where he brought excitement back to the game with his winning attitude. Hawkins has coached at the high school and college levels. Preceding the Marquette Catholic experience Hawkins was an assistant men's basketball coach and recruiting coordinator for Valparaiso University.
Hawkins came to Valparaiso after spending two seasons as the head coach at Calumet College of St. Joseph, where he increased the team's winning percentage and brought the program to the upper echelon of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference. During his two seasons, several players were named CCAC all-conference.
From 2000-03 Hawkins played collegiate basketball at Valparaiso University where he was a member of three Mid-Continent Conference regular season championship squads. In 2002, he played on the team that captured the Mid-Continent tournament title and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
Following graduation, Hawkins stayed on with the Valparaiso University men's basketball program as the Director of Basketball Operations in 2003-04, helping to lead Valpo to Mid-Continent regular season and tournament crowns, as well a trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Hawkins has a Bachelor of Arts in History from Valparaiso University and a Masters of Business Administration from Ashford University.

Dejuan Eskew (2nd year student/assistant coach). 

Attended Roosevelt High School In Gary, Indiana(1993-1994), but graduated from Burnsville High School in Burnsville, Minnesota. c/o 1996 (Burnsville Blaze Varsity Basketball team. 

Played guardat Calumet College of St. Joseph in Whiting, Indiana2000-2002 (Nate Pomeday) then played for the IUN Redhawks from 2002-2004 (Tom Bainbridge-Jim Nelson).
He attended camps for The Gary Steelheads (CBA), Hammond Rollers (ABA), and the Rockford Lightning(CBA). DeJuan is currently attending Indiana University Northwest for Elementary Education (undergraduate).

He is currently living in Merrillville, Indiana with wife Veronica Eskew and two children Jasmine and Johanna Eskew.
