(TOLEDO, OH) After a tough loss this past Friday to top-25 Campbellsville at home, coach Jason Hawkins and the RedHawks begin a two game road trip with an exhibition game at the University of Toledo.

"Campbellsville is a top-25 NAIA team. We played right with them for 40 minutes. We lost by three and we are steadily improving. With the return of Brandon Hill and Don Davenport we become a better team with more depth. I like the progress our team is making." Said first-year head coach Jason Hawkins.

"Toledo will be a great challenge for us on Tuesday and we look forward to the challenge and look to improve and get back on the winning track. The biggest turning point (against Campbellsville) was the night before in the second half against Lindsey Wilson who is ranked in the NAIA top 15. We came together as a team and it carried over in the game against Campbellsville.

RedHawks Valiant Comeback Effort Falls Short

By Brian Snow

(Gary, IN) Reggie Smith came off the bench to score 17 points to help the NAIA-ranked Tigers withstand 16 points from Justin Latimore and a furious RedHawk charge in the second half to escape with a 64-61 win on Friday night at the Savannah Center.

Jeff Ennis added 14 points for the Tigers while Malik Thomas had 11 points and 4 rebounds to assist in the win. The win moved the Tigers to 11-3 on the season.

Latimore's 16 paced the ‘Hawks attack while Don Davenport made a triumphant return to the lineup by adding 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort. One-time player of the week Baile Barnett added 12 points and Adam White tallied 11 points in the effort. White connected on 3-of-8 from long distance.

"We had a bad two minute stretch in the first half and a bad five minute stretch in the second half. Against good teams like Campbellsville the margin for error is very small. I like the progress our team is making" Said first-year head coach Jason Hawkins.

(HOFFMAN ESTATES, Il) Tuesday night was the biggest and toughest challenge of the season for the RedHawks and first year coach Jason Hawkins as they squared off against perennial power and top-ranked Robert Morris from the Sears Centre. It looked like a colossal mismatch, as the 88-61 final score would indicate, but it was far from a mismatch. These young Hawks played very well throughout the night and were able to hang with the Eagles during stretches of the game. In the end however, the depth and the rebound disadvantage proved to be too much to overcome and the Eagles finally put the RedHawks away in the second half. Eagles center Kenny Ogbuokiri grabbed an amazing 17 first-half rebounds and set a program record for rebounds in a game with 23 while junior Tori Boyd had 7 boards in the first half and 10 in the game as the Eagles used a late first half run to lead 38-24 at the break.
